Raghavendra Ganiga says that he was inspired by his cousin who is a body builder. After his completion of studies, he started toning of his muscles. After the steady practice of 3 years, he started to participate in competitions. His family is the biggest support in his journey. He can turn to them for support and strength anytime. His mother, brother, wife stood by him all the time. His trainer Milind Salian tapped his potential to explore himself and became the source of motivation to reach greater heights of his interest.
Apart from body building his interests are Athletics and Karate. During his studies, he won many medals in athletics. But due to lack of guiding source for Karate he concentrated only on Bodybuilding and Powerlifting. And it demands much of time, discipline and consistency in practice.
Mr. Raghavendra Ganiga proved the determination to win is the better part of winning. He got many awards and honours for his dedication and hard work.
Interdistrict competition in Mangalore under 60kg won 3rd place, Mr.Tarpodose Trophy held in Surathkal won Gold medal, Mr.Karnataka Trophy held in Mysore won 2nd place, Mr. Udupi Trophy under 65kg won Gold medal in the year of 2003.
Mr.Karnataka Trophy held in Hubli won 2nd place, Mr. Karavali Trophy held in Puttur won Gold medal, Mr.Tarpodose Trophy held in Surathkal won Gold medal, Mr.Vajrakaya Trophy in Udupi won 2nd place, State level awards such as Rajyothsava Trophy 2004 held in Udupi won 1st Place, Mr. Ribco Trophy in Bantwal won 1st place in the year of 2004.
Mr.Jimwell Trophy won 2nd place, Sri Rajyothsava Trophy won 1st place, Mr.Karnataka Bhargava Trophy held in Saligrama won 1st place in the year of 2005.
Sri Shivappa Nayaka Trophy held in Shimoga won 1st place, Mr. Janani trophy held in Mangalore won 1st place, Mr.Karnataka Rajyothsava Trophy held in Udupi won 1st place, Hercules Mr. Karnataka Trophy held in Bangalore won 1st place in the year of 2006.
Mr. Karla Trophy held in Karkala won 1st place, Mr. Karnataka Trophy held in Mysore won 1st place and selected for Mr. India in the year of 2007.
Mr. Kadamba Trophy held in Chikkmangalore won 2nd place, Dasarashri Trophy held in Mysore won 1st place, Mr.Explode Trophy held in Shirshi won 1st place, Mr. Gents's Trophy 2009 held in Udupi won 1st place, Mr.Sathish Sugars Trophy 2011 won 1st place and selected for National level in the year of 2008.
In Belgavi 2013 won 1st place selected to National level. In 2014, Mr. Karnataka Trophy held in Malpe and won 2nd place. Powerlifting bench-press state level competition 2008 held in Mangalore won 2nd place. Powerlifting bench press state level competition 2009 held in Mulki won 1st place.
He runs Gym and Fitness Centres in Saligrama and Brahmaver and transforming his knowledge to many dreamers. He proved himself to be the best trainer by helping his students to achieve their goals.
Some of the noteworthy achievers are Ashok G.V. won a Gold medal in Masters Category held in Hong Kong, Krishna Devadiga of 62yrs won a Gold medal in powerlifting held in Jemshedpur; Sunil Shriyan won a Gold medal in powerlifting held in Punjab.
Eight power lifters from his training centre participated in National Powerlifting; Bench Press & Deadlift ChampionShip-2016 held in Jemshedpur.Mr.Rajendra Ganiga got a Silver & Bronze medal.
